Two commercial-grade zippers (concealed below the hinge fold) run the full width of each side of poolandspacentre covers. Simply unzip to inspect the core or removal should replacement/ turning over or cleaning ever be necessary.
The skirt is meticulously sewn from two layers of vinyl, in a standard length of 3". Can be made longer or shorter if needed. |

All our lids have the entire foam core sheathed, providing a water infiltration barrier. This maintains the core's R-Value much better. In essence this sheathing protects the core from getting water logged and thus making the lid heavy.
We use as standard a 4 to 3” tapered thicker grade insulating core, first off, this allows rain water to naturally drain (cheaper lid alternatives will form puddles on the lid surface eventually breaking down the polystyrene insert cores) this means you will have better vapor intrusion resistance and a higher R-value. This insulation taper provide you with the best combination of strength and insulation while keeping cover weight to a minimum. Be aware greater depths of covers does not necessarily mean better insulating or strength characteristics.

Our marine-grade vinyl is manufactured to ISO 9001 quality standards with higher levels of mildew inhibitors and special plasticizers. We only have 2 color choices to keep our material stock costs low so we can pass this quality and saving onto you.
Wet rainy weather does little to harm vinyl, it is the sun's UV rays that cause the most damage. The vinyl we use contains special UV blockers to resist fading and cracking. It is advisable to use 303 Aerospace Protectant for total UV protection every 3 months or drain down to extend the longevity of your lid. It literally takes five minutes to spray on and wipe.
Poolandspacentre covers feature a super-reinforced multi-layer cover hinge and ballastrade that runs down the fold of the lid to keep the heat of the water in the hot tub to block heat escape from the fold. Also standard. colour-matched, reinforced black web mesh handles with latches and key are provided. |

Galvanised steel insert

Our lids come as standard with a galvanized metal strip that sits down the folds, this provides greater reinforcement across the core to prevent sagging & resulting heat loss. Steel by its nature is more costly to fabricate but is far superior to aluminum channels, which overtime will bend and mis-shape. This results in heat loss around the cover's perimeter. In rainy weather, water puddles can then occur, which in turn causes more sagging.
