How to MAINTAIN your hot tub jets.

Jet Maintenance is an relatively easy thing to do, yet almost everyone forgets to do it. Occasional maintenance, maybe even as litlle as once a year will keep your jets in tip top shape and potentially provide the hydrotherapy you had the first day your spa was installed. Clean jets will allow you to adjust volume and pressure just as they were designed to do, and rotating jets will spin normally again.

Please note:

Two main things reduce jet efficiency; sand and calcium. But they can be easily removed with this jet maintenance process.

Jets of the same size are interchangeable and can be put anywhere you want them

Some fundamentals are included in here, please do not force the jets, as not all hot tubs will allow you to do this procedure.

Twist Clockwise
1.A jet can be opened by turning its’ outer ring from left to right.
2. With the spa pumps off, close the jet by turning the outer ring all the way to the left. Twist anti-clockwise
to remove give another 1/4 turn 3. To remove the jet, give it another 1/4 turn. For stuck jets, use a pair of rubber gloves from the kitchen to get a good hold on the outer ring. Do not use a screw driver or anything that could damage the jet.

4. Soak the jets in a container filled with water and white vinegar for
3-4 hours. A 50% mixture of each is fine

 Soak in White wine vinegar
Swirl every hour
 5. Swirl the jets in the solution every hour to rinse off some of the
sand and/or calcium, as it begins to loosen
6. When the time is up, rinse the jet with fresh water from a hose or the kitchen sink Rinse with fresh water
7. Rotating jets should spin as if the were new. If they don’t, the bearing may be worn and the whole jet assembly must be replaced
To insert - Rotate Clockwise
 8. To re-install the jet: insert the jet into the housing, and rotate it to the right.The jet should easily lock.
