Ozone chips last approximateley 18 - 24 months. Once their life expires your ozone unit no longer produces ozone and the bubbles that you see bubbling through your hot tub water will not be ozone gas. This means that you will not have the powerful sanitising effect that your ozonator usually gives and you will be relying on your chemical sanitiser alone to keep harmful bacteria in check.
You no longer have to replace the whole ozonator unit if you have a Del ozone. Instead, simply unscrew the face plate (power turned off) of your ozonator and replace the Corona chip.
