The smooth red bodied pump above is the USA Spec and has a high failure rate, particularly in Europe due to overheating problems, the motor design has changed to allow a rear fan to cool the pump along the fins whilst in operation.

It is commonly found on spas in the UK including Sierra, Southwest and Coast Mountain Spas and we strongle reccommend replacing it with the european spec pump pictured at the top of the page. It has exactly the same fittings as the red US pump, so is easily replaced in a couple of minutes, keep your old lead for swop over, the wiring diagram below makes it a pain free job.
