Your existing Waterway Pump may have a smooth body as apposed to the style of pump shown in the above picture, Waterway USA use various motors such as - Emerson, AO smith, Century Laser, these are all replaced by this European spec. motor (EMG) which is recommended by Waterway for the European market.
It has a rear fan and a finned body design to dissipate heat.
Common number found on these pumps are PF201N22X (single speed) & PF202N22X (two speed)
In most cases you will find that the wet end (P/N 315-1220 found on the back of the wet end casing, shown in photo gallery) is the same but the motor may be made by a different company. This is its direct replacement.

This is the most common pump in the UK & Europe, it fits nearly all US imported spas including Arctic Spas, Beechcoomber Hot tubs, Canadian Spas, Coyote Spas , Hotspring Spas , Hydropool Hot Tubs, Hydrospa, Leisure Bay, Leisurerite, Sapphire Spas, Saratoga, Sierra Spas, Southwest Spas amongst others

Wet End Features.
• High performance, specifically designed for 56-frame motors.
• Large intakes for improved low performance and noise reduction.
• Large 6" diameter wet end for higher head pressure, highly versatile that can be rotated every 90°
(**Please note we supply the unit in the standard orientation, in less than three minutes you can rotate it to your required position, if you need us to do it for you just add 3 or 9 o'clock in the notes at checkout - to understand orientation have a look at "Pump Specifying".
• Water repellent Italian made EMG motor - you may find that your pump has a smooth body, as apposed to the style illustrated above. This motor may be made by a different company, our motors are specific for the UK market.
• 56-frame motor for added strength, cooler operating temperature and longer motor life - we can still supply the original 48 frame but we recommend the 56 Frame for extended life.
• Two double shielded ball bearings with moisture resistant grease for quieter operation.
• Two-speed motors have four sets of insulated windings for increased efficiency.
• Split capacitor, (start and run) for less energy consumption
• Thermally protected to extend life expectancy of motor
• IPX5 construction
The pumps are supplied without pipe unions and cable, therefore you will need to rewire your existing cable to the pump (see Identifying your Pump):
Wiring Help
Obviously with the amount of pumps in the market place, there are varying wiring configurations and different colour wires, making it quite confusing, (please always consult a professional) our guide below clarifies the differences:
The pumps are supplied without a cable, as the power cord is dedicated to your model of control system, therefore you will need to rewire your existing cable to the pump. Remove the cord from your old pump, and note, the wire colour going to high speed or low speed terminals on any motor, the colour is set or determined by the maker of the spa control, not by the pump or motor manufacturer.
Before you remove the power cord from your old pump, look at the old motor wiring label and make a note of what color goes to high, and to low. Then, put the cord on your new motor/pump, using the same color for high as on the old motor and also for low speed wiring.
