Sauna Heaters

To determine a new heater, it is quite simple, heater size is measured in kilowatts (kW) and is directly related to the Sauna-room's volume. So measure the width, depth and height of sauna room (in metres) and multiply them together. e.g. A sauna of 2.5m wide x 1.3m deep x 2.5m high = just over 8 cu.m.

As a rule of thumb Saunas up to 10 cubic metres need appx 1kW per cu.m. Ensure you add 1.2 cu.m for each large window or all-glass door. Thus our 8 cu.m room would probably best be served by an 8.0kW stove.

It is best to pick a heater working in the bottom part of its range, not at the top end of its working capacity.

Typically heaters over 8kW use 3-phase electricity; so we recommend keeping the volume of home saunas to no more than appx 10-12 cu.m
