This is the high quality Del Ozone non return valve, they can get blocked over time with debris, if it does it will stay in the open position allowing watering to run back into your ozonator. This will cause damage to the ozonator, in the most cases irrevocably, the symptom of which is your hot tub electrics tripping.
The converse of this is it stays in the closed position, thus preventing your spa to draw in ozone.
