This is our best-selling pump, we are a primary distributor for Waterway in the UK and all the options here have a 2 inch (outlet) x 2.5 inch (inlet). The actual measurement over the threads of the outlet is approx 76mm and the inlet is approx 93mm.

It has a rear fan and a finned body design to dissipate heat and give lower running temperatures.

Be aware we now list the following on there own seperates pages.

Waterway 56 Frame Pumps - Side Discharge - 2.5 inch (2.5hp Single Speed)

Waterway 56 Frame Pumps - Side Discharge - 2.5 inch (3hp Single Speed)

Not sure which pump you need?

Below is a breakdown of what to check. First will be AMPs and RPMs.
  • If there is only one rating then it will be a single speed, if there is two, you guessed it ... two speed.
  • AMP ratings will typically be 5 – 7 amps = 1.5 (HP), 7–9 amps = 2.0 (HP), 9–11 amps = 2.5 (HP), 11–12 amps = 3.0(HP) & 14–15 amps = 4.0 (HP)
  • RPM rating will normally be 1450 for low speed and 2900 for high speed.
Next, check the outside diameter's of the threads for your pipe connections.

Most wet ends can be rotated to 3, 9 and 12 o'clock so no need to worry about that.

It is worth checking overall dimensions of the pump before ordering to ensure you have enough space for the new pump.

Now you have all the information to look through our Jet Pump Range!

Motor Features:

  • Water repellent Italian-made EMG or EME motor - you may find that your pump has a smooth body, as opposed to the style illustrated above. This motor may be made by a different company, our motors are specific for the UK market.
  • 56-frame motor for added strength, cooler operating temperature and longer motor life - we can still supply the original 48 frames but we recommend the 56 Frame for extended life.
  • Two double shielded ball bearings with moisture-resistant grease for quieter operation.
  • Two-speed motors have four sets of insulated windings for increased efficiency.
  • Split capacitor, (start and run) for less energy consumption
  • Thermally protected to extend the life expectancy of motor
  • IPX5 construction

Wet End Features:

  • High performance, specifically designed for 56-frame motors.
    • Large intakes for improved low performance and noise reduction.
    • Large 6" diameter wet end for higher head pressure, highly versatile that can be rotated every 90°

Smooth Body

If your existing Waterway Pump has a smooth body as opposed to a finned body it may have an Emerson, AO smith or Century Laser motor, these are all replaced by this European spec. motor (EMG or EME) which is recommended by Waterway for the European market.

Always check the dimensions of where your old pump sat as these European models are slightly taller than the smooth body models due to having their capacitors positioned on top of the motor

Fits Hot Tubs

It fits nearly all US imported spas including Arctic Spas, Beachcomber Hot tubs, Canadian Spas, Coyote Spas , Hotspring Spas , Hydropool Hot Tubs, Hydrospa, Leisure Bay, Leisurerite, Sapphire Spas, Saratoga, Sierra Spas, Southwest Spas amongst others.

Common number found on these pumps are PF201N22X25 (single speed) & PF202N22X25 (two speed), in most cases you will find that the wet end P/N 315-1220 found on the back of the wet end casing, (shown in photo gallery) is the same but the motor may be made by a different company. This is its direct replacement.

A common problem is with the discontinued Hydropool and Canadian spa pump, the PEUL2H pumps, these are now discontinued, in the photo galley you can see the Waterway 2hp (dependant on existing amp draw) unit can be used as a direct replacement this customer bought a pump and it fitted straight in - we do not guarantee a straight fit but most times you will get lucky - the trick is to see if the pipework is flexible enough to accept the slightly differing wet end (about 1/2 inch difference) and then no pipework change is required ring us to help - a photo always helps.

Please note we supply the unit in the standard orientation, in less than three minutes you can rotate it to your required position. To understand orientation have a look at "Pump Specifying".

The pumps are supplied without pipe unions and cable, therefore you will need to rewire your existing cable to the pump to ensure correct fitment to your spa pack.

Obviously, with the number of pumps in the marketplace, there are varying wiring configurations and different colour wires, making it quite confusing, our guide below clarifies the differences. A Wiring diagram is usually included inside the pump terminal box. We advise that the pump is fitted and wired by a qualified hot tub engineer.

A power cord is dedicated to your model of control system, remove the cord from your old pump, and note, that the wire colour going to high-speed or low-speed terminals on any motor, the colour is set or determined by the maker of the spa control, not by the pump or motor manufacturer.

Before you remove the power cord from your old pump, look at the old motor wiring label and make a note of what colour goes to high, and to low. Then, put the cord on your new motor/pump, using the same colour for high as on the old motor and also for low-speed wiring.
